Horses and Vehicles

Equine Museum of Japan
Finished
Horse-driven carts where the main way for people and luggage to be transported before cars and railroads became popular. Chariots were also used in ancient times. The transportation of larger luggages in big amounts and in a swifter manner became possible as a cart was attached to the horse. The mobility which horses provided enriched the life of the people.
In this exhibition, we will exhibit various materials from ancient to modern times, from Europe to Asia, and will present the vast history of horses and vehicles. This is a chance to understand the horse culture of Japan as we peek on the materials from across the globe.
