Ikko Narahara
Ikko Narahara (1931-2020) is one of the most famous photographers of the postwar era. He consistently focused his photography on the theme of the conditions of human life and has won acclaim for his fresh sense of image and emphasis on form. “Domains" was presented at his second exhibition in 1970, and is a work that covers the Tohbetsu Trappist Monastery in Hokuto City and the women's prison in Wakayama. This exhibition features works based on "Domains" and all the works from the 2019 photographic book of the same name reconstructed by Narahara himself, including previously unpublished works.
