Japanese Festivals and Tourist Attractions Depicted on the Tobacco Packages— The World of Special Designed Tobacco Packages

Tobacco & Salt Museum
Finished
In former times, tobacco with special commemorative designs for various events around the country, as well as special designs for sightseeing spots and festivals around Japan, were sold. From the designs of such commemorative packagings we can see the changes in the society and the different periods. From the touristic designs we can see the sceneries of the places at that time. These were popular as items to collect, for which our museum continues to receive donations of such packages. In this exhibition, we will create an atmosphere of time traveling beyond time and space through such tobacco design.
