Kasing Lung
On May 13th, 2022, a solo exhibition of new works by Kasing Lung, "-+", will open at Kaikai Kiki Gallery.
Based in Belgium, Kasing Lung has worked as an illustrator for children’s picture books. The artist started collaborating with How2work for the release of Chinese picture books and collectible figures around 2011 and, in 2013, his first Chinese picture book, "My Little Planet", was published in Taiwan, marking his huge breakthrough. Subsequently, Lung also began producing figures and artistic drawings. Today, he produces a number of large-scale paintings, expanding his activities to art fairs and exhibitions around the world.
With Kaikai Kiki, Lung has held a solo exhibition “This Is What It Feels Like” at Hidari Zingaro in Nakano Broadway in 2020. The exhibited paintings, drawings, and figures received great reactions from art collectors not only in Japan, but from around the globe. Since then, his works have been exhibited mainly at art fairs and group shows in which Kaikai Kiki Gallery participates, and have been highly acclaimed worldwide.
This will be the first major solo exhibition in Japan for Kasing Lung, with 25 new paintings including 3-meter-high masterpieces on view. The new painting collection, featuring the original characters Labubu and Zimomo created by the artist, is filled with his quintessentially energetic and dynamic brush strokes.
This exhibition is even more powerful than Lung’s previous solo exhibitions. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you at the gallery.
