Kuniyoshi Kaneko
The painter Kuniyoshi Kaneko created odious yet beautiful worlds striking balances between virtue and vice, the sacred and the profane. Starting with his encounter with Tatsuhiko Shibusawa, Kaneko formed and matured his own aesthetic together with Yukio Mishima, Juro Kara, Simon Yotsuya, and others who pioneered avant-garde art of Japan. His passionate creativity extended beyond painting to photography, kimono design, stage design, and other genres. This exhibition held seven years after his death will display and sell rare original paintings as well as newly released drawings and prints.
