Artists

Maki Kusumoto
This exhibition will showcase the work of manga artist Maki Kusumoto over the past 38 years since her debut in 1984.

Maki Kusumoto has continued to pursue an unparalleled aesthetic, including her carefully selected words, her well-honed black-and-white line drawings, and her attention to detail in her book bindings. The aesthetic, decadent, skillful, and stylish world of Maki Kusumoto's work has won over a generation of fans and created a variety of controversial works. Kusumoto's work has influenced countless artists not only in the world of manga but also in the fields of fashion and music.

In addition to the original drawings, Maki Kusumoto's meticulous work is on display, including etchings, all books, proof sheets with handwritten designations, faxes, and even props depicted in her works.
