Makoto Taniguchi creates installations that combine 3DCG and programming, animation works, and box paintings using mirrors, and in many of these works, there appears a presence that evokes keywords such as #friendliness, #kayoiwa, #fragility, and #Kawaii. In today's world, where the methods, routes, speed, and areas of communication are undergoing dramatic changes due to the evolution of IT technologies such as social networking, artificial intelligence, VR, and the metaverse. Taniguchi’s work is simple, yet it asks with a deeper meaning. Where does our handsome heart exist?
In this exhibition, Taniguchi will present a new series of box paintings using mirrors. About 10 works will be presented, ranging from large-scale works that match the scale of a life-size statue of a young girl to smaller works.
