Okokume is a Spanish artist known for her work with the iconic character "Cosmic Girl.
Cosmic Girl, a pink-haired spirit with turquoise skin, is a cosmic emissary who stresses the importance of protecting the environment. She travels throughout the universe, restoring planets in need to their original state.
Okokume's painting style is inspired by lowbrow art and reflects the influence of Japanese manga, American cartoons, and street culture. The cheerful, colorful tones that fill the screen invite the viewer into the world of Cosmic Girl and her friends and their positive message.
This solo exhibition titled "Utopia" will display canvas and bronze works based on the question, "Can a perfect world be realized?”
