From March, studio J will be holding a solo exhibition entitled "Emotionally Sweet Mood" by artist Sawako Tanizawa. The title is taken from an excerpt from the poet Koutaro Takamura's essay, "Chieko no Hansei (Half a lifetime of Chieko)", in which he writes about Chieko Takamura’s oil paintings.
Tanizawa's work aims to unleash great ideas and the power of imagination surrounding life, death, love, and hurt, in an attempt to 'expand imagination' - her work was selected for the honorable mention award in the VOCA (Vision of Contemporary Art) exhibition, 2022.
In addition to being an homage to the painter and paper artist Chieko Takamura, this exhibition will also feature newly created paper cutout art in the image of the female.
