An exhibition of picture books and prints by graphic designer Aquirax Uno (b.1934) and Italian painter Gian Berto Vanni (1927-2017) will be held.
Still at the forefront of his work, Uno's 1966 masterpiece picture book "Anoko" (text by Yoshitomo Imae, published by Rironsha) is a fantastic story about a boy and a girl and a horse at the end of the war. It is an impressive picture book that captures the heart of the fragile girl depicted by Uno.
The picture book “Love" by Gian Berto Vanni was published in France in 1964 and became a long seller with more than one million copies sold worldwide. Vanni has created a wonderful picture book in which the printing, text, paper, design, and bookbinding are all artistically crafted, and an unexpected world unfolds each time the pages are opened. This exhibition features six previously unpublished etchings from the “Love" series that depict the world of picture books.
