Etsunan Nakano
This exhibition celebrates the 140th anniversary of the birth of Etsunan Nakano (1883-1980), a calligrapher who worked in Kyoto from the Meiji to Showa eras. In his works, Nakano transcended the framework of Chinese characters and kana and achieved a unity between spirituality and technique. The exhibition also features the works of the artists influenced by Nakano.
