Lacquer, with its excellent durability and binding qualities, has supported people's lives since the Jomon period. It is also valued as a coating material because of its ability to produce soft, glossy black and red surface. This exhibition features a special selection of lacquerware made in Japan from the collection of the Sanritz Hattori Museum of Art.
