Ai Hirano
Ai Hirano is a Kyoto-born photographer known for the "Moving Days" series, which captures the essence of moving at significant life junctures through text and film photography. In 2023, Seikosha published a book of this series, leading to increased requests for Hirano's moving photography, including a major project documenting the move of Kyoto City University of Arts. Initially overwhelmed by the chaotic environment, Hirano used this experience to capture the space's essence through a film camera. Hirano believes moving reveals the true nature of people and places, showing what they value and the inherent character of the location. Hirano's work captures the essence and future of what people cherish and build over time.
