WALLS TOKYO is pleased to present "A New Landscape," a solo exhibition by Aiko Watanabe, running from January 22 to February 21, 2026.
Born in Hiroshima, Aiko Watanabe majored in Oil Painting at Tama Art University before continuing her studies in the Painting Department at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe (Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe) in Germany. Currently, her work focuses on landscapes, exploring the theme of awe toward the vast power of nature that transcends human understanding.
In this first solo exhibition at WALLS TOKYO, Watanabe will showcase pieces created during her residency in Italy, alongside new works developed in Japan based on sketches from her time abroad. We invite you to experience Watanabe’s unique landscapes—works that weave her personal experiences and emotions into the physical scenery.
