Gallery Mugen welcomes Argentine-born photographer and educator Alejandro Nunez for a contemplative exhibition titled El Jardin es Agua (The Garden is Water), opening on June 13th. Now based in Uruguay, Nunez draws inspiration from the garden surrounding his Aikido dojo in Marindia, where nature, movement, and perception converge. Rooted in the philosophy of Aikido—where water symbolizes harmony, adaptability, and transformation—Nunez’s photography flows with the same gentle intensity. His images embrace uncertainty and the ephemeral, resisting rigid documentation in favor of visual poetry. The result is a body of work that meditates on time, matter, and impermanence. The exhibition will open on Friday, June 13th, from 17:00-22:00, alongside Tokyo Poetry Journal. The official reception follows on Saturday, June 14th 12:00-19:00, with Argentinean pastries provided by Tokyo’s own Ponele Bakery. The show then runs daily from June 15th to 22nd, 12:00-19:00. Visitors are encouraged to drop in to experience the works and meet the artist.
