Ancient Mirrors Exhibition

Gotoh Museum
Finished
In ancient China, mirrors were cosmetic tools that brought good luck, and when they were introduced to the Japanese archipelago during the Kofun period, they became a symbol of power and, from the early modern period onward, became the object of admiration of literati.

This exhibition features approximately 60 ancient mirrors from the collection of the Gotoh Museum of Art, dating from the Chinese and Kofun periods. The special exhibition will also feature books and autographs of famous historical figures from the collection of the Daitokyu Kinen Bunko.
