Togo Murano founded the Murano Architectural Office in 1929 after working at the Watanabe Festival Architectural Office. A prominent Japanese architect known for work on several famous buildings, particularly five museums, art museums, and exhibition facilities. After the war in 1953, designing the Fujikawa Gallery, and in 1970, creating the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art Oji Branch Haradanomori Gallery. Subsequently, completing the Koyama Keizo Museum of Art in 1975 and the Yatsugatake Art Museum in 1979. In 1983, finishing the Tanimura Art Museum.
The current exhibition will showcase Murano's museums and related buildings, featuring architectural materials like models, design drawings, and photographs, with a focus on the Yatsugatake Art Museum. Takeru Ishida will create a new model of the museum, and Genki Matsukawa will digitize the architecture into 3D data for VR displays. Additionally, photographs from past visitors and construction workers will be exhibited, providing a comprehensive view of the Yatsugatake Art Museum.
During the exhibition, there will be architectural lectures by active architects and researchers, exploring Togo Murano's legacy, marking 40 years since Murano's passing.
15 minutes by taxi from Fujimi Station on the JR Chuo Main line; From Chino Station on the JR Chuo Main line, take the bus for 30 minutes and get off at Gakurin. The venue is 20 minute walk from there.
