Marking Art Stage Osaka's third iteration, this year's theme is "World Art Osaka - Connected by Video." Artists recommended by embassies in Japan, representing various countries, will participate. By providing a platform to experience video works that strongly reflect regional backgrounds, the event aims to promote international exchange and cultural understanding, while also building momentum for the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025.
This exhibition traces its origins to "World Art Tokyo," which was first held in 2018 to foster international collaboration and exchange. By introducing artists recommended by foreign embassies in Japan, the event focuses on the cultural backgrounds, diverse regional characteristics, and contemporary themes reflected in their works, aiming for mutual understanding through more concrete interest and opinion exchanges.
Centered on video works, this exhibition allows visitors to immerse themselves in the context and time encapsulated in the pieces, navigating through the exhibition space as if swimming between different times. Visitors can relate to the diversity embedded in the works created by artists from various countries.
