The Asama International Photo Festival, which started in 2018, is celebrating its fifth edition this year. Last year, the festival attracted a record number of approximately 30,000 visitors. During this time, the main venue, Miyota Town, has seen an increase in residents, particularly young people, including creators, who have moved to the area. The event location, Myojin Modern Park, has also garnered attention as a popular spot among residents and travelers.
The theme for the 2024 Asama International Photo Festival is "Memories Through Photography." Under this theme, a diverse array of works by photographers from around the world will be showcased. The festival will feature large-scale exhibits unique to photo festivals and innovative display methods that take advantage of the spacious grounds. Visitors can enjoy the artworks interactively with all five senses as they stroll through the indoor and outdoor exhibits set amidst the natural beauty of Miyota.
