Aya Momose
Aya Momose's main theme in her videos is the multilayered nature of communication with others. Momose pursues a point of view that turns to the body, sexuality, and gender. In this exhibition, Momose will present new work on the theme of female voice actors. In Japan, female voice actors often play boy roles in anime works, such as Shinji Ikari (Emi Ogata) from "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and Monkey D. Luffy (Mayumi Tanaka) from "One Piece." Momose will focus on the fluid relationship between the voice actor's own gender and that of the character when a female voice actor voices a boy. Past works connected to the theme of this exhibition will also be exhibited.
