Ayaka Yamada's artistic concept revolves around the "connection of life." The inspiration for this concept came during her university studies when she was deeply impressed by the similarity between the roots of trees and capillaries seen in anatomical drawings. This led her to start drawing a combination of plants and the human body.
Currently, while depicting motifs more concretely, Yamada explores and expresses the physical similarities and spiritual connections beyond the chain of life that can be observed between living organisms. She does this by drawing abstract lines that intricately intersect like a mesh.
In this exhibition, over 35 prints and hand-drawn works created from the past to the present will be showcased. The exhibition includes works that incorporate a fantastical worldview with ambiguous boundaries, akin to a dream. Additionally, works from her print collections, "Illusionary Light" and "Destiny," will be displayed.
From Demachiyanagi Station on the Keihan line, take the #203 or #17 Kyoto City bus and get off at Ginkakujimichi. The venue is 5 minute walk from there.
