Finished

Artists

Roshiw Okada, Hitoshi Karasawa, Michiaki Mochizuki et al.
Based in Osaka and Kyoto, Yukawa Shobo published limited edition books with elaborate designs in binding and bookbinding, attracting many book lovers until it closed its doors in 2008. To create "beautiful books," Yukawa Shobo collaborated with up-and-coming artists such as print artists Shigeru Kimura, Roshiw Okada, Hitoshi Karasawa, and Soichi Bando, dye artist Michiaki Mochizuki, and painter Katsuhisa Toda to create books that could be called craft works in harmony with literature.

This exhibition features Yukawa Shobo's original works from the collection acquired in 2016 through the donation of collector Taizo Okada, who aimed for a utopia of books. Prints and books are inextricably linked through printing. The world of woodblock prints by Hitoshi Karasawa, who collaborated with Yukawa Shobo on many of his works, will be introduced in conjunction with this exhibition.
