Artists

Chihiro Iwasaki
Chihiro Iwasaki was a painter who continued to depict "children" as a consistent theme throughout her life. Her painting ability to distinguish between the different ages of babies and her mother's love for her children through child-rearing led her to create works that capture the lively images of children.

This exhibition traces the transition of Iwasaki's depictions of children's scenes through sketches of her son as a model, a mid-season picture magazine, representative works depicting children playing in the seasons, an image of a young girl that overlaps with Chihiro's own image, and the picture book "Pochi no Kita Umi". The exhibition also focuses on Iwasaki's work with Doctor Michio Matsuda on child-rearing books such as "I am a Baby" and "Encyclopedia of Child-rearing".
