Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art (MIMOCA) is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Chikako Yamashiro, opening on March 21. Yamashiro received high acclaim for her works confronting the problems and events occurring in the Okinawa region. In recent years, she has been producing narrative works that connect the past to the present from a long-term perspective while approaching and deciphering the present Okinawa from various aspects such as politics, society, culture, and the natural environment. This exhibition introduces the world of Yamashiro's work, focusing on recent and new works that provide a new perspective on the present.
