This is the first solo exhibition in Japan by visual artist and designer Chito.
Chito, who has lived near street culture since childhood, has been interested in graffiti since his teenage years. His simple yet creative images composed of rough curves, vivid colors, and unique mediums have attracted many people. His style is very interesting, as he continues to expand the range of his work using everyday objects, and the sensibility that is contained in his style, which shows glimpses of change in his techniques each time, is a new wave of excellence unique to contemporary artists of the Y generation.
His style has been established through collaborations with a variety of fashion brands. He traveled around the world, and his works, which were painted on locally acquired items, attracted attention in the street scene, leading to Supreme selecting Chito as a collaboration artist in 2018. His name has spread widely in the fashion scene. Subsequent collaborations have been realized with Arc'teryx, Yohji Yamamoto, and Givenchy under Creative Director Matthew M. Williams. His collaborative pieces have been worn and collected by pop stars such as Drake, Frank Ocean, and A$AP Rocky, and have influenced pop culture in the US and around the world. In addition, this October, he participated in the in-store mural renewal of Supreme Harajuku, and his energetic activities can be expected to continue to play an active role in many media outlets in the future.
