Christian Missions and Cross-cultural Exchanges in Asia

Toyo Bunko Museum
Finished
Christianity is a global religion, and delving into its history reveals its crucial role in the cultural exchanges between the East and the West. Initially through overland routes and later via sea routes during the Age of Discovery, missionaries arrived in various regions of Asia. However, the responses and receptiveness varied significantly across different regions. By examining Asia through the lens of the history of Christian interactions, one can discern the diverse characteristics and uniqueness of each region. The Toyo Bunko (Oriental Library) has been rich in valuable books related to Christianity since its establishment, boasting one of the country's most extensive and high-quality collections. From a diverse array of works compiled in various languages, let's explore the history of East-West exchanges through the prism of Christianity.
