Unlike live-action films, animated films are created entirely from scratch, and even the details of the background cities, architecture, and interiors are deliberately drawn to create a unique worldview.
This exhibition will display hand-drawn background art of major Japanese science fiction animation works produced from the late 1980s to the early 2000s, which were meticulously rendered using outstanding techniques, as well as reference materials such as books and location scouting photographs that were used as references in the creation of these works.
The exhibition also features reference materials such as books and location-scouting photographs that were used as references in the creation of these works, interviews with the creators, and a timeline of the architect's vision for the future city.
