Collection Exhibition - Toda Vassals

Matsumoto City Museum
Finished
The Matsumoto City Museum, which relocated in October of last year, stands within the third enclosure of Matsumoto Castle, which was once the residence of samurai who served the lords of Matsumoto Domain, known as the "bukechi" or samurai district. During the Edo period, behind the scenes of the Matsumoto Domain, some retainers supported the country and the lord. In the museum, this exhibition focusing on the daimyo who served as the lord of Matsumoto for the longest period will introduce the unique retainers who served the lords of the Toda family, gathering together as the "retainer group," showcasing how they lived through the turbulent times alongside their lord.
