Motif, composition, color, light and shadow, and the texture of matière (paint surface) are created through different techniques and materials. Painters combine various elements of painting to express the themes they want to convey.

Odilon Redon, who regarded black as the "most essential color," created a beautiful collection of black and white harmonious lithographs. Tsuguharu Fujita became the darling of Paris with his sparkling milky-white background, known as Grand Fond Blanc. Kinnosuke Ebihara painted a snow scene series characterized by a light blue and white known as Ebihara Blue. Seijo Togo, painted chic and modern female figures with a refined gray as the main tone. Naoji Yamaguchi insisted on his "characteristic colors" - black, yellow ochre, and reddish-brown. Toyomitsu Eida, pursued a bright color palette with red and purple, stating, "I want to create dream-like scenes." Josef Albers, explored the interaction of colors, creating varying perceptions through their combinations.

This exhibition introduces seven painters, each with a unique dedication to color.
