The "individual and group" principle, as conceptualized by artist Asao Tokoro, involves simple forms connected by consistent rules and behind it are high-dimensional geometry, nonlinear mathematics, and symmetry, among other things, connecting various fields of study and creativity. It forms the basis for interdisciplinary collaboration between artists and researchers at the University of Tokyo's College of Arts and Sciences. This collaboration has led to the "Connecting Artifacts" exhibition series, which explores the connection between forms and spans multiple disciplines. In this exhibition, over 40 artists, researchers, and developers from both domestic and international backgrounds will participate, showcasing the expansion of a new collaborative network that transcends art, science, and industry.
