Yuka Numata
"Criterium" is a new work-centric exhibition series jointly organized by young artists and curators at this institution.

This exhibition introduces Yuka Numata, who was born into the generation of digital natives where the internet is used routinely. She explores the relationship between the two-dimensional and three-dimensional realms and their connection to daily life from both digital and analog perspectives.

Born in 1992 in Chiba Prefecture, Numata currently works based in Tokyo and Chiba, presenting her works both domestically and internationally. In this exhibition, she draws inspiration from her personal experiences involving domestic and international travel, as well as the increasingly prevalent world of gaming brought about by the proliferation of digital devices. The exhibition transforms the gallery space into a room resembling a hotel, exploring the divergence and convergence between the real and digital worlds through a unique technique involving collaged images and iron beads.
