Daichi Miura
Contemporary artist Daichi Miura, who is active across various titles, will hold his solo art exhibition at the Isetan Shinjuku Main Store 6th Floor Event Hall from February 28th (Wednesday) to March 4th (Monday), 2024, for 6 days. This will be Miura's second solo art exhibition at the same venue since his first solo exhibition in July 2022, approximately one and a half years ago.
The main theme of this exhibition is "Dialetheism: a philosophical position that asserts the existence of true contradictions." Good and evil, material society and spiritual world, pop illustrations, and crystal works born from nature. What may seem contradictory at first glance is connected like a pair of mirrors—affirming a world filled with contradictions, the art pieces created provide visitors with new "realizations."
The exhibition will feature over 150 energetic art pieces, including representative fashion icon illustrations "Josie’s Runway" and crystal works. Additionally, there will be installations such as "Crystal Fortune Capsule" for visitors to enjoy, as well as the sale of "Josie’s Sunglasses," reproducing the sunglasses worn by Josie. Visitors can fully immerse themselves in the world created by Miura.
Furthermore, during the exhibition period, Miura's art will be broadcast both inside and outside the Isetan Shinjuku Store (on the basement 1st-floor concourse's iVision and signage next to the escalator in the same building). Special videos created by Miura will also be displayed on the outdoor vision of the building and Shinjuku Alta in front of Shinjuku Station East Exit, painting the town of Shinjuku in the colors of "Daichi Miura."
