Daichiro Shinjo
Unframed signifies a state in which the artwork does not fit within the confines of a frame. It represents a state of rawness and nudity for Daichiro Shinjo, a period when the piece is still capable of changing. It’s a space where Shinjo can transcend his boundaries, and create new expressions. The “Unframed” series reveals the relationship between the artist and their works- providing access to an experimental space where visitors can experience the new ideas Shinjo is exploring.
For Vol. 1, Shinjo presents a series of printed works created using bamboo and woodblocks, crafted over a significant period. In contrast to his spontaneous ink/calligraphy works, these prints incorporate elements of the uncontrollable wood grain and leaf veins.
