Contemporary artist Tomokazu Matsuyama and Carlos Rolón will co-curate the group exhibition "Die Young, Stay Pretty" at Kotaro Nukaga, opening Friday, March 10. The exhibition will feature works by nine internationally acclaimed artists, including Candida Höfer, Marilyn Minter, Erwin Wurm, Huma Bhabha, Sayre Gomez, Joel Mesler, Takuro Kuwata, Carlos Rolón, and Tomokazu Matsuyama.
Carlos Rolón and Tomokazu Matsuyama share a common interest in postcolonial art and the aesthetic of beauty that emerges from non-Western contexts. This exhibition is the result of a series of dialogues between artists about the concept of beauty, the nature of the concept, and the fact that beauty is not universal.
