Enrico Isamu Oyama has gained attention both domestically and internationally by reinterpreting the visual motifs of aerosol writing, a realm within street art, with his motif "Quick Turn Structure" (hereafter QTS), and expanding his expression across various media. In his solo exhibition held at NADiff Gallery (Tokyo, Ebisu) in January this year, he three-dimensionally realized QTS as autonomous bookends and attempted to transform the space through the interaction between the bookends and books. This time, Oyama focused on the concept of "scale/effect," which suggests that the characteristics of objects change even when their shapes remain the same but their sizes differ. He expresses and reinterprets QTS through enlargement and reduction. Alongside his paintings, the venue features large-scale three-dimensional works and a new flat artwork reconstructed by dividing one of his paintings, "Ffigurati #616," into 238 small cubes, embodying the effect of scale transgression in the arrangement.
