Fukuda-Kataoka Ruins: Medieval Roads and Logistics

Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Archaeology
Finished
Excavation surveys at the Fukuda-Kataoka Ruins in Tatsuno have unveiled remnants of a medieval residence and the medieval Sanyo Road. The strategically positioned site, at the intersection of the Ibo River and the medieval Sanyo Road, has yielded numerous ceramic artifacts. This intersection serves as a vital transportation hub, providing insight into the exchanges of people and goods during the medieval period.
