Tomioka City Museum, which includes a memorial gallery honoring the career of painter Ichiro Fukuzawa (1898–1992), a native of Tomioka City, opened in 1995 and will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2025. To commemorate this milestone, we will host a collaborative exhibition featuring Fukuzawa and three up-and-coming young artists.

Kota Hirakawa, Ebosi Yuasa, and Etsu Egami have each carved out their unique realms in contemporary painting and have recently gained significant attention as key figures in the next generation of the art scene. They are all interested in Fukuzawa's works, activities, and the era in which he lived, incorporating these elements into their creations. Now, more than 30 years after Fukuzawa's passing, what do these young artists, who never knew him in life, see in his legacy?

This exhibition will present three solo exhibition formats, showcasing each artist's latest works alongside Fukuzawa's pieces from our collection.
