The Takarazuka Culture and Arts Center will hold an exhibition by Takarazuka-based architect Katsuhiro Miyamoto, who is active in Japan and abroad, as the fourth in the "Made in Takarazuka" series introducing artists associated with Takarazuka City.
The works to be exhibited range from the buildings Miyamoto has designed so far based on the idea that "architecture is a vessel for memory," to houses, temples, beauty salons, monuments, and more. For example, Miyamoto's office, located on the right bank of the Muko River in Takarazuka City, is named Zenkai House and preserves the "memory of the earthquake." This Zenkai House was selected as one of the 100 best buildings in Takarazuka is a landmark of Takarazuka City, and is visited by architects from all over Japan.
This exhibition presents a full-scale model of a portion of each of these architectural works. Viewers will be able to experience the actual scale of the architecture in the exhibition space and imagine the whole of the 2,400 square meters of the building.
In addition, Miyamoto's most recent work, the Kitakyushu Municipal Archaeological Center *, will also be introduced in this exhibition.
