This exhibition explores how specific art forms evolve amid institutional violence while examining art's role in social activism, rebellion, and contemporary revolutionary struggles.

The term "Gewalt" (violence) was adopted by Japan's New Left in response to state and police violence in the 1960s. It signifies a backlash against establishment violence, embodying anti-violence sentiments tied to resistance and rebellion. The exhibited works reflect responses to state violence, systemic oppression, and institutional authoritarianism under capitalism.

The exhibition showcases art based on metaphors of rebellion and active engagement. It delves into various forms of resistance against institutional violence, rooted in historical and political contexts. Additionally, it explores combative artistic expressions that resonate with anti-violence and non-violence at the intersection of political action.
