Tamiga (民畵)
Images of the People. People live, people pray, people dance. Within the everyday lives of countless unnamed people, a sense of Japan continues to live on. Festivals, faith, and the small gestures of daily life—these have been carried on not through grand historical records, but as memories held within the body.

This exhibition, Tamiga, centers on the faceless multitudes—the people I have continued to depict—rendering their presence together with the atmosphere that surrounds them.
Rather than describing folklore from an external perspective, these works seek to touch the layers of time that have settled within us. They attempt to draw out the contours of unseen memories through images.
