Highlights of Japanese Painting Best Masterpieces of Adachi Museum

Adachi Museum houses numerous works by Japanese painters from the Meiji to Showa Periods. The modern Japanese art world since the Meiji had generated free-style works for the new age. Painters at that time introduced the Western styles of expression, or chose bold subjects, based on the traditions of the Japanese painting. They also established various art circles, pursuing their own aesthetics. The whole of Japan’s art world was very much active.
This exhibition will display masterpieces from our collection of modern Japanese paintings. It would be a special opportunity to see works by Yokoyama Taikan, Takeuchi Seiho, Uemura Shoen, who established their own places in the art world and are still loved by many people. Please take the chance to enjoy the best masterpieces of Adachi Museum.
