Inaugural Exhibition―A Spirit of Generosity, "Cherished Pleasures, Offered to the People" (Yoshu-Aigan)

Ebara Hatakeyama Museum of Art
Finished
This exhibition commemorates the reopening of the Hatakeyama Memorial Museum of Fine Art, which will celebrate its 60th anniversary this October. Following extensive renovations, the museum will reopen under its new name, “EBARA HATAKEYAMA MUSEUM OF ART.”

The first of three commemorative exhibitions will be held on the theme of Hatakeyama Sokuō's tea and Noh (classical Japanese dance-drama using masks), showcasing masterpieces that represent the museum. Additionally, as the first challenge in exploring new realm, the "Sakai Collection" will be presented under one roof. This exhibition will not only offer visitors the opportunity to experience the aesthetic sense and passion of Hatakeyama Sokuō, the museum’s founder and a dedicated art collector, but also highlight the contributions of two businessmen and collectors who served as bridges to the world of beauty.
