Introduction to Art Archive XXIX: Yoshio Taniguchi in Keio

Keio University Art Center
Starts in 6 days

Artists

Yoshio Taniguchi
Architect Yoshio Taniguchi created new environments on the Keio University campuses through a process of resonance with the architecture of others. At the Yōchisha campus, he connected Shinkan 21 to the main building designed by his father, Yoshiro Taniguchi, and at the Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC), he designed the junior and senior high school building placed along the perimeter of the university campus planned by his colleague and close friend, Fumihiko Maki. This exhibition explores how Taniguchi engaged in an architectural dialogue with these two masters, employing his characteristic approach of designing in response to the surrounding built environment.
