We are proud to present the upcoming Japanese Art Auction Meguru Vol.22, showcasing masterpieces by renowned Japanese artists, including Ito Jakuchu and Maruyama Okyo, as well as Yokoyama Taikan and Hishida Shunso. In addition, we have a wide variety of works, including calligraphy by Saigo Nanshu, Fukuzawa Yukichi, and Inoue Yuichi, Western-style paintings by Foujita Tsuguharu and Nakagawa Kazumasa, and mingei and crafts by Munakata Shiko and Kitaoji Rosanjin. We will also be showcasing many ukiyo-e by Utagawa Hiroshige and Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, whose works are gaining popularity both in Japan and abroad, as well as shin-hanga by Yoshida Hiroshi and Kawase Hasui.
As a special feature of this auction, we will be looking at Tanaka Isson, whose major retrospective held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in Ueno last year is still fresh in our memory, and Terasaki Kogyo, who led the modern Japanese art world along with Yokoyama Taikan and others.
