Joshirikiten 2026

Design Festa Gallery Harajuku
Starts 8/28
Now in its ninth edition, Joshirikiten is a student-organized exhibition by students of Joshibi University of Art and Design. From August 28–30, around 120 groups of students will take over Design Festa Gallery Harajuku, presenting exhibitions, auction displays, handmade accessories and other works for sale.
The Japanese title Joshiriki plays on the word “girl power,” but here it refers to a distinctive kind of strength: staying true to yourself without following the crowd, embracing differences, thinking freely and pursuing what you love with confidence.

Since 2017, the event has given students an opportunity to experience exhibiting their work while building connections with others and discovering new ways to turn their interests into confidence and creative strength.
From diverse artworks to handmade goods and auction pieces, the exhibition offers a lively glimpse into the many forms of Joshiriki and the world created by Joshibi students.
