Print Gallery Tokyo presents Kazakh Mythology (Қазақ мифологиясы), an exhibition of woodcut prints by Karim Baigutov, on view April 18–20, 2026. Karim Baigutov was born in 1991 in Taraz, Kazakhstan, and teaches at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University in Almaty, once a key Silk Road hub. His work is grounded in Kazakh mythology. Motifs such as the shanyraq and the Baiterek (Tree of Life) offer a way to approach myth as something that continues to shape cultural thought today.
