This exhibition is the latest in Katsunobu Yoshida's "Printing Experiments" series of works, which were exhibited in the “FamAA is a gallery presenting contemporary art and its surroundings" group show at the famAA pre-opening in September 2022. The "Printing Experiments" series is an ambitious work that uses Yoshida's physicality to deconstruct the concept of "printing as a reproduction technique," which forms the basis of his profession of graphic design.
As a collector, designer, and printer, Katsunobu Yoshida is known for a style that actively incorporates fieldwork and prototyping. In recent years, his "Foraged Colors" project, a development research project aimed at creating colors from materials collected from the sea and mountains and implementing them in contemporary society, and "super-special printing" at the printing studio he has set up in his studio, are all activities that are developed while wrestling with the concept of "printing. Yoshida is also a collector, and his personality is strongly reflected in the various works he undertakes.
As the opening exhibition of famAA, Yoshida's various works will be exhibited in three phases from March to November. *Yoshida's works can be viewed through the windows of the gallery, which will be closed from Monday, February 20, before the exhibition.
