Artists

Hasui Kawase
Hasui Kawase (1883-1957) was a woodblock print artist active from the Taisho to Showa periods. At a time when cities and landscapes were undergoing rapid transformation due to rapid modernization, Kawase depicted the seasons, weather, and even the passage of time in the landscapes he discovered during his lifelong travels. This exhibition brings together the work of this artist, who was loved by Steve Jobs.
