21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa
Finished

Artists

Kazuo Umezz
The exhibition centers on Kazuo Umezz's visionary works, which explore themes such as the onset of the Anthropocene era driven by global climate change and frequent natural disasters, the looming singularity hinted at by AI and robotics, and the boundary-pushing developments in genetic engineering and hybrid life forms.

Featured are Umezz's iconic pieces My Name Is Shingo, The Drifting Classroom, and 14 Years Old, each showcasing the artist's prophetic vision. Additionally, the exhibition presents the debut of Umezz's new work, Zoku-Shingo: Small Robot Shingo Museum, a series of 101 connected paintings.
