Kichizaemon Raku XV, Nendo
Since its opening, the Raku Kichizaemon Museum has held the "Kichizaemon X" series, a series of collaborative exhibitions featuring the works of Raku Kichizaemon XV and something (an artist or an event with which he shares a thought).
This 13th exhibition is a collaboration with Nendo, a design office founded by Oki Sato. Nendo, based in Tokyo and Milan, has received high acclaim both in Japan and abroad for its wide range of design work.
This exhibition is an innovative and challenging project in which Oki Sato will approach the Raku bowls created by Naoiri from the perspective of their characteristics, interior space, texture, and time axis, giving form not only to the visuals but also to their ideas. The essence of design can be seen in the work created by the resonance of the two artists' thoughts on craftsmanship.
